Put simply, VoIP (voice over internet protocol) is the use of your office network or the internet for voice transmission, with high quality audio and using handsets that work the same as standard telephones.
At Tag4 we can supply you with business class PBX systems based on either Swyx (Windows) or Asterisk (Linux). These systems use the internet to route your voice calls between branch offices or remote workers at virtually no cost, as well as providing you with all the benefits of a complete business telephone system, including call routing, voicemail, and automatic call handling.
You can choose to route your external calls over standard ISDN lines, or go with an external VOIP provider, giving you the best of both worlds, and allowing you to use least cost routing to make all your calls at the minimum cost possible.
Reasons to migrate to an IP telephone system:
- You need more lines or features with your existing phone system, and there is little possibility to expand the existing system, except at high expense.
- Individual employees or entire departments need to be equipped with the new telephony functions, e.g. dialling from Outlook contacts or customer databases.
- Your company´s offices are connected via a VPN, and you want to make inter-office telephone calls at no cost!
- You would like to implement automatic call handling and routing.
- You are about to spend money on a business phone system, and want to take advantage of the cost benefits provided by new technologies such as VOIP whilst also future proofing such a large purchase.
VoIP introduces unique cost saving potentials. Not only can you reduce the costs incurred when internal calls are placed over the public telephone network, but also calls to colleagues and remote offices suddenly become compeletly free!
Any employee who usually works out of the office or does not have a fixed workplace within the company can connect to VoIP telephone systems via the internet using a laptop or PC. In a matter of seconds, the employees can be contacted at their office extension. A VPN connection restricts the access to authorised users only and ensures all call security.
If you need business class telephony, then why not reap the benefits of new technology, and build your systems with components that are easily extensible and very cost effective without the crippling lock-in and hidden costs of proprietary closed digital PABX systems.
